From South Korea to Our Customers: Inside Ryan’s Visit to LG Headquarters
In May, ThermalTran owner Ryan had the distinct honor of traveling to South Korea to visit LG’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities. He was one of only ten professionals from the eastern half of the United States invited to participate in the trip.
The experience offered a firsthand look at LG’s product development, manufacturing processes and commitment to quality. More importantly, it gave Ryan the opportunity to see how the heat pump systems ThermalTran regularly recommends and installs are built, assembled and tested before reaching customers.

A Closer Look at LG Manufacturing
During his visit, Ryan toured LG’s production factories in Busan, where he observed each stage of the manufacturing process.
As an experienced HVAC technician, Ryan was especially impressed by the level of precision demonstrated throughout the facility. Employees carefully inspect components, review small details and conduct rigorous tests before allowing any unit to be packaged for shipment.
That attention to detail was not limited to one department or stage of production. It was embedded throughout the entire process.
“Each worker at the plant embodied the founder’s mission to create high-quality machines free from the slightest defect,” Ryan said. “They were focused on even the smallest nuances before they would allow a product to be boxed for shipment.”

A Philosophy Built Around Quality
While touring the factory, Ryan saw a quote displayed on the wall from LG Group founder Koo In-hwoi:
“…if only one out of a hundred is a mixture of defects, all other ninety-nine are the same as defective products.”
The message is simple but powerful. When even one defective product reaches a customer, it can weaken trust in every other product produced alongside it. Quality cannot be treated as an occasional goal or a final inspection. It must be part of every decision made throughout the manufacturing process.
This founding philosophy prioritizes customer trust and long-term reliability over simply producing equipment as quickly as possible.
For Ryan, the quote also reflected many of the values ThermalTran brings to its own work. Every system installation, repair and maintenance visit contributes to the trust customers place in the company.

Seeing the Equipment We Install Come to Life
ThermalTran regularly installs LG heat pump systems, but seeing those products move through the factory provided an entirely new perspective.
Ryan was able to observe the equipment being assembled and tested by the same teams responsible for maintaining LG’s manufacturing standards. The visit reinforced his confidence in the engineering, workmanship and quality-control processes behind the products ThermalTran brings into customers’ homes and businesses.
“I left Korea with reinforced confidence that ThermalTran is installing a product that can be trusted to stand the test of time,” Ryan said.
Product quality is particularly important when selecting an HVAC system. Heating and cooling equipment represents a significant investment and is expected to operate reliably for many years. A manufacturer’s commitment to quality affects everything from everyday comfort and energy efficiency to maintenance requirements and long-term performance.

Shared Values Between LG and ThermalTran
Ryan’s visit also highlighted the shared values between LG and ThermalTran.
Both companies understand that trust is not created through a single transaction. It is earned over time through consistent service, reliable equipment and a willingness to stand behind the work being performed.
ThermalTran approaches each customer relationship with a long-term mindset. The goal is not simply to install a system and move on. It is to provide dependable recommendations, careful workmanship and ongoing support throughout the life of the equipment.
The trip confirmed that LG takes a similar approach to product manufacturing. Its focus on testing, precision and continuous improvement demonstrates an understanding that long-term customer confidence is more valuable than short-term production numbers.

Bringing That Knowledge Back Home
The opportunity to visit LG’s corporate headquarters and factories gave Ryan a deeper understanding of the equipment ThermalTran installs and the people responsible for producing it.
It also provided valuable technical knowledge that can be shared with ThermalTran’s service and installation teams. Better familiarity with the manufacturing process helps technicians understand how systems are designed, how individual components work together and why certain installation standards matter.
Ryan is grateful to both LG and ACR Supply for making the experience possible.
“This journey helped ThermalTran understand the true nature and heart of their companies,” Ryan said. “We will continue to install LG equipment with steadfast confidence.”
For ThermalTran customers, that confidence is backed by more than a product brochure or manufacturer specification. It comes from seeing the equipment built, watching it tested and meeting the people committed to getting every detail right.
